The uptake of the flu vaccine for the 2017-18 winter season in Bexley was below the national average, therefore, we undertook a study to look at the reasons for this and try to understand some of the barriers to being vaccinated.
We listened to experiences of adult unpaid carers in Bexley. Our recommendations from this report are being used as an evidence base to make changes in the provision of carers services across the borough.
Many young carers may remain hidden and are unwilling to let schools or friends know they are a carer. Our work discovered there were many hidden young carers in the borough who were not accessing the help and support they needed.
